Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) it is an exam conducted for the engineering graduates so that they can go to the next level of engineering – the post graduate. It allows entry to all the nationwide level institutes for Master of Technology, Master of Engineering and direct Ph.D. Gate 2017 online exam will be held on 4, 5, 11, and 12 February 2017.
GATE exam is conducted together by the seven IIT’S and Indian Institute of Science. IIT Roorkee will be organizing GATE 2017. GATE exam is conducted both online and on paper. The GATE exam is conducted on the part of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Department of Higher Education, and National Coordination Board – GATE.
General Information on GATE 2017
GATE has invited its applicants to fill the form online from 1st September 2016 with the minimal fees of Rs 1200/- for general applicants, 600 for SC/ST applicants. The last date for applying online is 10th October 2016.
To apply online for GATE exam, all you have to do is to fill the online form, upload all your required signature, documents, and photographs, pay the required amount through net banking, make sure your status and you’re over with filling your application form for GATE 2017.
GATE will be conducted for 21 different streams in which exam for 15 different streams (AE, AG, AR, BT, CE, CH, CY, GG, MA, MN, MT, PH, TF, XE, and Xl). It will be conducted online whereas for six different streams (: CS, EC, EE, in, ME, and Pi) it will be conducted offline. The examination for all these disciplines will be conducted by an online Computer-based Test (CBT). A candidate can appear in only one paper of the GATE Exam.
The GATE 2017 Exam will be held in the forenoon and afternoon sessions on weekends on 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th February 2017. The application fees can be paid using electronic mode and also through payment at bank counters. The Admit card can be downloaded from the GATE 2017 website tentatively from 5th January 2017. The GATE 2017 Exam will be of three hours duration with a maximum of 100 marks.
