After reading our previous post about the upcoming movie “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” you must be curious about the movie review, how the actual movie is and what the critics’ opinion…are… Don’t worry we are here with the movie review.

Storyline: Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar), a NRI in London has just had a break-up with his long-time girlfriend. Unable to bear the heartbreak, he calls up his brother Kush (Imran Khan) to find a nice desi bride for him and arrange his marriage, by Christmas. Kush goes on a bride-hunt and settles for wild cat Dimple (Katrina Kaif), his college friend and the daughter of an Indian Foreign Services officer. In the search for the wife for his brother, he realizes that he’s the one who is actually losing his heart to the bindaas babe.

Through the arrangements for the wedding, Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif realize that they are in love with one another. Soon the brother, the country bumpkin buddies, and the groom’s ex, alongside the lovers, conspire to spoil this impending wedding. Will it be too late before love prevails….
Review: Both Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif make a completely unusual pair with a stark contrast. While Imran plays a character of restraint and low sound person, as the younger brother who falls in love with his brother’s fiancée, Katrina essays the role of an over the top brahmin girl who loves to break rules and disregard convention. It’s hard to think of them as a romantic. Yet, somehow, the couple manages to pull it off in what turns out to be a light and breezy comedy.

Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan both showed terrific screen presence and presented undeniable charisma and Ali Zafar who has already showed his flair for comedy in Tere Bin Laden, once again showcases his impulsiveness as the confused groom who suddenly realizes he is still in love with his ex.

The first half of the film, with huge wedding preparations, gets too long drawn and the fun and games that Katrina tries to infuse in the proceedings seem a bit forced. But still as the maverick Dulhan-to-be, Katrina overshadows her co-stars and produces some of MBKD’s funniest moments.

It is the energy content that works admirably for the film which doesn’t have much to flaunt about in the story department. The film tries to remain high spirited throughout, both in terms of the narrative and the performances and succeeds in keeping the smiles coming. The music by Sohail Sen has already become popular and songs like Madhubala and Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai are already at the hotlist. On the whole, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a 3 star rating movie and is well worth for enjoying a pleasant weekend.
