Offering a long arm list of unique features like digital instruments, clip on handle bars, rear disc brakes, tubeless tyres, etc. this 220cc Bajaj bike became the biggest rival of Hero Honda Karizma and Yamaha YZF-R15.

After introducing Pulsar 220 in 2007 Bajaj revamped it to Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi in 2009 to upgrade its flagship with some clever tweaks. During this year the 220 carburetor version was also launched and the fuel injection was discontinued. This boosted up the acceleration to a great extent. The other major change was the brighter headlight in terms of looks while rest of the exterior remained almost same.
