Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education has already announced the change in the pattern of examination papers of class 10 and class 12 from this session onwards almost three months before. Now the model papers according to the changed pattern are made available by the board on their website to help the students to understand the new concept so that they can prepare themselves for the forth coming board exams in March-April next year.
In July, 2011 UP board, responsible for conducting the examination of class 10 and 12 made some changes in the pattern of question paper and introduced a standard syllabus at par with other national level boards for the intermediate level.
The changes made were that the marks of board examination for high school students would be split into 70 and 30 marks each for external and internal examinations for all subjects and for class 12 students, a standard syllabus would be followed for mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology in all inter-colleges of the UP Board.
The new changes made will definitely raise the student’s level and they will be able to perform better at the national level exams. Moreover this will also maintain the equality in the education system.
As these changes will be forced from the current session so to help the students and to introduce them to the new pattern the examination committee has produced some model papers on their website so that candidates may get familiar to the new question paper pattern much before to prepare themselves for the upcoming exams in March- April month. Examination committee of UP board made yet another announcement regarding the examinations of class 10 and 12 of UP board. Now likewise ICSE and CBSE board pattern, students will get the extra time for reading the question paper. Candidates will get 15 minutes reading time prior to writing thus making the complete examination of 3hrs and 15 minutes. Earlier there was no extra time given to the students to go through the question paper. This will help students to understand the question paper and will allow them to set priorities while attempting the paper.
