Directed by Imtiaz Ali known for his uniqueness about the subject again proved that he is unlike the traditional directors and makes his path with elite style. The movie has honesty and depth and makes everybody feels like a rockstar when he comes out of the theatre.

Storyline: Janardan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a middle-class Haryanvi kid from Delhi’s Pitampura who always had a longing to become a popular rockstar like Jim Morrison but finds himself in a morose condition when he’s told that he can’t be a great musician until he’s suffered great pain. Being mislead Janardhan goes from a desperate struggler strumming his guitar at campus, bus stand and other places but everywhere he was humiliated.

In the meanwhile JJ gets close to Heer ( Nargis Fakhri) who is a Kashmiri girl who blows hot and cold and finds both love and loss in the form of the rich and statuesque Heer. She gets married to a NRI and goes away from his life, the real reason of his future fame as a Rockstar. A foreign tour reunites him with Heer and their passive passion rekindles until Jordan is obsessed with her. The struggling roadside guitarist soon becomes a famous rockstar and shows the middle finger to whole world who gave them the same salute during his struggling years.

The first half showed the mindblowing love story chemistry between the actors while the second half gets little stagnant. The youngster shares an explosive chemistry with her co-star, which makes the impulses of their characters and the film despite with some flaws still find a deep place in the hearts and the directors has shown that he is the master of old wine in new bottle and proves again himself.

Music given by A.R.Rehman never dismays you and the songs of the movie are also worth listening. Overall, Rockstar is a heart-felt, inflexible vision of an astute filmmaker and it is bound to generate polarizing responses. Either you will be able to see and listen what remains unsaid or you will find the unfolded side of the drama where you can’t find the answers about the questions regarding his love and the unexpected climax. Our rating to the film is 3.5/5.

Investing approx 150 crores in movie including 50 crores just in promotions doesn’t mean that you make it only sci-fi instead making it logical and story based. Shahrukh Khan just focused on bringing in new technology to bollywood’s cineworld but he forgot that people go full on entertainment. In an attempt of mixing Hollywood with bollywood he just finishes up to what you can say a mistake. Although it squanders so much money but neglects fundamental requirements like a rigid, persuasive script.

Starring Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and others the storyline of the movie is based on the videogame and turning the fiction into reality but how is really unknown.

Shekhar Subhramaniyam (Shahrukh Khan) is a game developer in one of the top developing company is married to Sonia (Kareena Kapoor) and they have a son Prateek (Armaan Verma) who is more than crazy about the video games and always indulges himself in playstation or other game consoles. He doesn’t like his father very much as he is not so much sophisticated and is boring too.

Prateek always had a longing that there should be a game where villain of the game must win and should have 10 times more power than the normal villains. To impress his son and to respect his feelings Shekhar start a project on developing such game and giving it a name Ra-One.

On the course of programming the game, and applying much of artificial intelligence the program gets self automated and does something unrealistic. The villain of the game is Ra-one who comes to real world to kill his son Prateek in order to win the game while the superhero G-One the savior, protects him from any mishap.

One can only win if the device called HART fitted in the body of both the fighters is attacked and destroyed; else in any other condition any of the fighters can’t be killed. The combat continues among Ra-One and G-one in the whole movie to rescue Prateek from being killed.

Arjun Rampal playing Ra-One gets its entry after the first half of the movie but impresses with his deadly looks. The movie only focuses on the Sci-Fi technology and doesn’t correlate the sequences. The vulgar comedy scenes are just add-ons but the film lacks in the persuasive script.

RA.One’ does what no other Sci-Fi movie has done before (if we talk about bollywood) but it mocks itself in many occasions. The songs although provides some cushion to the audience especially the ‘Chammak Challo’.

Overall, the movie disappoints you in many ways and even the 3D effect doesn’t overshadow the lack in script. Shahrukh just focused on the promotions rather on building a good story and if we compared with the Robot of Great Rajnikant, it is far behind it. Children may get attracted but still they will find playing video game rather watching the movie. We give it 2.5 star rating.

The four movies which are released this Friday are Azaan, Jo Dooba So Paar, Mujhse Fraandship karoge and My Friend Pinto. All these have stark contrast with one another and are of different taste. We are reviewing all of them in brief to give you a quick idea of which to watch and which is the best.

The first one being the AZAAN, is a most expensive action thriller dubbed movie directed by the Prashant Chadha. Starring Sachiin J Joshi as Azaan and South African model Candice Boucher both as debut performer, the movie is a action thriller based on biological warfare.

Aazaan Khan is a young army officer, who works for India’s Research and Analysis Wing and Afreen (Candice Boucher) is a sand-artist who grounds Aazaan with human emotions of love. Azaan is on a mission to find out his missing brother, who is a terrorist and save the country from biological warfare. The whole revolves round the searching of his brother and saving the country. But it dosent have a strong storyline up and ends up as a complete action triller.

Second among the lot is Jo Dooba So Paar- its love in Bihar. Directed by Praveen Kumar this is a low budget comedy movie starring Vinay Kumar known for his unorthodox comic sense, Anand Tiwari, Rajat Kapoor, Sadia Siddiqui and others. It’s a love story of Bihari boy Keshu and American girl Sapna who arrives India for her completion of a project. But in the meantime she gets kidnapped, her all boyfriends and well wishers go for the hunt of finding her including Keshu with the aid of Bihar Police which is unsupportive. Who gets the Sapna requires watching this comedy movie.

The third movie released this Friday is ‘Mujhse Franndship Karoge’, a definite watch for the youngsters who have facebookmania. Completely different from the league it’s the first bollywood Facebook movie pouring heavily youth appeal and tight script.

The film is directed by Nupur Asthana and including director the starcast is almost new and unexperienced. It’s a romantic comedy starring the young legs Saqib Saleem, Saba Azaad, Nishant dahiya, and Tara d,Souza. The movie revolves round 4 people in two different groups. One group consisting Rahul and Malvika (Nishant Dahiya and Tara D’Souza) and has good looks and great fan following in their college while the other consisting Vishal and Preity (Saqib Saleem and Saba Azaad ) and has shyness and introvert nature but creatively brilliant.

But the story makes the twist by creating strong feelings among the opposite sexes of opposite rather contrast groups. Because of their introvert nature both are unable to express their feelings and they decide to do it on facebook but with different names. Preity makes her facebook profile as Malvika and chats with Rahul. On the other side Vishal also faces the same problems and play as Rahul to chat with Malvika. But the twist arises with unknowingness of who is on other side of the chat person. Are they the same guy whom they wanted to chat or anyone else and on that note confusions arises, which lead them to a state where their personal lives get badly affected due to the identity change.

The movie is completely is different concept and hopefully it may attract the youth and can make them realize whats are the pros and cons of these social communications.

The last One is My Friend Pinto starring Prateik Babbar, Kalki, Naseerudin Shah and others. The movie directed by Raghav Dar is a romantic movie with light entertainment. But its impractical and untimed comic sequences make it a falter.

Michael Pinto (Prateek Babbar) is a simple village grown honest boy and lives in a false feeling that everyone is like him in this world. In search of life he goes to his friend native place Mumbai where he faces many problems because of his innocent nature. He gets entangled with his friend who is connected with some mafia and Pinto being the friend always gets himself in bad conditions. The movie has some comic punches but still disables the audience to laugh. Overall the movie is not satisfactory.

From all the releases Mujhse Franndship Karoge may attracts the audience because of its unprecedented concept while the others doesn’t contain enough to spend the money.

The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali, known for his unique style and unorthodox story writings is coming up after two years break from his last directed super hit movie Love Ajkal.

The plot of the movie is based on the college student Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) who belongs from a Jaat Family. He is an ill-mannered, unsocial, un- cooperative guy studying in a Delhi college and a struggling musician. But now he wants to change his life and become a superstar who is loved by everyone. Under the misguidance of a well wisher who tells him that he has to fall in love and then break his heart to make his music become better and deeper to gain popularity in the world Janardhan befriends Heer (Nargis Fakhri); the most beautiful, sophisticated and popular girl in his college.

The two spend an unconventional friendship and spend their days together in reckless abandonment. But then Heer leaves him and Janardhan backtracks to live his regular life. He gives up music and joins the family business.But then the twist arises and Janardhan and Heer meet again.

This time things get different. But before he knows it Janardhan gets on a tumultuous journey of self discovery, longing and restlessness only to realize that the very thing he spent his life looking for was in front of him the whole time.

The story is based on the life journey of a person and lets what Imtiaz Ali has in store now for the audiences. The songs are already on the top charts with the music of A.R. Rehman making it all time favorite. The movie will be released after Diwali on 11th November 2011.

Starring Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan as swindlers in the movie, the director was not sure what he was trying to present to the audience. Although David Dhawan has been in fame because of his comic timings and gags but Rascals is somewhat like a film without any hard efforts and seems to be squeezed out of the sponge to spread over the celluloid. Invariably the director tries to obscure the shallowness in the story by adding depth only in loudness of the dialogue delivery.

The story of the film is based on two conmen Sanjay Dutt (Chetan) and Ajay Devgan (Bhagat) who just keep on beguiling others. On the course they find Kangna Ranaut in Bangkok as their next target by trying to win her as she is loaded with assets (both financial and physical). But their lecherous rivalry only seems to be about who would get to hug the cleavage-popping girl more number of times. Both Kangna and Lisa Haydon (another flesh for both swindlers) just prove as pea-brained objects of lust with absolutely no self-respect for themselves or their tribe.

The movie neither catches up content wise nor comic timings. All you get a mixed mash of tasteless comedy. Kangna fails to develop a strong camaraderie with the role and just proves as a funny object. The 2D animation and small surprise in the climax also doesn’t register much.

Overall, the movie sounds stale and the tone of humor is consistently loud and commotional. Ajay Devgan keeps screaming most of the time while Sanjay Dutt in contrast loves the silence. Accumulating every aspect Rascals ends up being a silly and stupid comedy!!
